Wanna just kick it with Xscape in the comfort of your own home? Well you might be able to soon enough!
Yes, after shocking fans everywhere with news of their unexpected reunion, the ladies of Xscape have been more than busy as they work on new music, an upcoming biopic, and prepare for their first LIVE performance together in over two decades at this year’s Essence Festival — but have the iconic 90’s girl group bitten off more than they can chew with their latest entertainment endeavor?
It was recently reported that the ladies of Xscape have now began working on a new reality show. That’s right, according to our pals over at TMZ, the band’s original members Kandi Buruss, Tiny Harris, LaTocha and Tamika Scott, have all teamed up with the Bravo network for a new “docu-series,” chronicling their reunion and forthcoming journey as the new & improved Xscape! The series is set to follow all four women as they prepare for their 2017 Essence Festival performance next month. Word is that the group is now currently filming in Atlanta with ‘Love & Hip Hop’ creator, Mona Scott Young as producer.
Hmmm.. we’re not exactly sure about this one…
Reality television has played a heavy part in destroying some of our most beloved bonds on screen (i.e. Cynthia & Peter, Tiny & T.I,, Kandi & Phaedra, etc.). Not to mention, Xscape is known for their dysfunctional group dynamic which lead to their eventual split – – So we’re a little weary to learn that the ladies might be putting their long-running infamous brand of behind the scenes girl group drama on display for all to see.
However, more than half of these ladies have seen the good, bad, and unforgiving ugly when it comes to reality TV, so if they are willing to take on that challenge, we are very much here to see them rise to the occasion! Besides, bands and reality TV aren’t always a sour mix, it seemed to work out pretty well for fellow R&B royalty, SWV and their respective group career – – Let’s just hope that these ladies don’t go the way of Danity Kane, or Day 26 or any other music group/reality show involving Diddy.
What are your thoughts? Are you here for an Xscape Reality show?
