Meet Raymond Watson, a male model with a story that shines through with every shot of the camera lens. Raymond’s distinct look and signature face tattoos give him an edge and uniqueness that is unmatched. So get camera ready because we got a chance to chat with the modeling marvel himself and he gave us some snapshots of his life, career, & more in our interview below:
Kerry: What’s the story behind your tattoos?
Raymond: The R represent my name and for the ones under my eyes that say r.i.p mom is for my grandmother who died everyone called her mom ’cause she took care of everybody.
Kerry: What male model(s) inspired you to follow your dreams?
Raymond: For me it’s all about the upcoming ones who are trying make a name for themselves but they ones i check out are Quinten Barnard Simone and Isaac McKinley.
Kerry: What are you views on racism and how does that impact your industry?
Raymond: In all things I try to act with love I believe in god so when it’s comes to racism I leave it in God’s hand it’s crazy to see but when I’m upset about it I say a prayer for peace and for modeling you are what you believe so keep pushing I try to pay it no mind.
Kerry: As a black male model, what message would you like your brand to send to the millennials?
Raymond: You don’t have to limit yourself you can be whoever you want to be and like whatever it is you like that simple.
Kerry: What does being a model mean to you?
Raymond: It’s a way for me to express myself to show how open minded and brace I am it’s a purpose and passion for me something I love doing something I’m gon’ look back and be proud of it’s facing my fears and showing other they can to.
Kerry: If you could pick any 3 brands to represent, who would they be and why?
Raymond: Calvin Klein, Nike, and Versace
Kerry: What can we expect from you in these last few months of 2017?
Raymond: I shot for a few books this year which I’m excited about things the material came out really dope–something I never done before been in touch with magazines going back and forth waiting for my time they going use me.
Kerry: How do you define the word LOVE ?
Raymond: Love is acceptance its really everything you do.
Kerry: What color describes you & why?
Raymond: Gold because its goes with brings out and compliments everything.
Kerry: If you could use 3 adjectives to describe Raymond, what would they be and why?
Raymond: I will say inventive, passionate and persistent yup lol.
